If you didn't know royal mail has changed the way it charges for parcels. I't doesn't just go on weight alone now. But on parcel size aswell. I have just posted out a few items so will give examples.

Nxe marker case weighing 0.6kgs first class recorded cost £4.10 because it fit through the small package slot.

Jt lense weighing 0.19kgs first class. Not recorded cost £5.65. Because it was classed as medium package due to not fitting through slot. Where as before lense would have only been about £2.50.

Just letting people know so they don't get caught out. Selling little items which are over 7cm in width.

Another money-making scheme hits the rocks of disappointment.

This is why I have started to send parcels using Parcel2go. Royal Mail is extortionate!! Only time I use Royal Mail is if I have to post a letter which I hardly do.

Sent a DM9 in its case with a spare barrel via RM SD next day, fully insured - cost £11. Not bad.

Yep, the revised pricing is good if you're sending small, heavy items - it works out cheaper than before, but you're stuffed if you're selling bulky, light items.
