Thanks a lot guys.

I am currently healing 2 big tattoos so not the best idea to get in the pool or sweaty, probably will start trying mid this week.

If you've get damaged ligaments etc, then I would strongly suggest getting to physio and getting professional advice. I used to run a lot, and sam starting again this winter, but have a ripped IT band that still gives me grief at times. I spend a lot of time building up the muscles around that knee to support it.

Personally I go for a run till, to not quite what I can manage then do hill sprints and jumping jacks. Basically anything ballistic as this will help to increase your speed. I also do a fair bit of scrambling along the floor to increase my speed and reactions low down

I know this is abit of an old post but dont see the point in starting a similar thread.While we are on the topic of workouts,can anyone give me some advise on how to strengthen lower back muscles?Last weekend I had a real problem trying to pop in and out of cover at a walk on.I hurt my back years ago,and every now and then the slightest odd movement throws it out and Im wrecked for the best part of a week.

I am definitely not in the position to give proper advice but I used to have the same issue when I played basketball. I often found, and I still do this, that doing core workouts generally would work my lower back slightly. It won't make a difference over night, but slowly building that strength helped me a lot. My personal choice is usually to do planks but then drop my hips slightly to use my lower back a bit.

But you're definitely best speaking to a specialist! Again, I wouldn't recommend this, I'm just saying it's what worked for me :)

I tore a ligament in my lower back at the end of October, ive been doing these sorts of exercises to get it somewhere near:

after advise from a physio, that i shouldnt be using my arms to put myself into the position during the stretch as its placing more strain on your lower back muscles.

i found these really helped aswell, really loosened it up;

a massage really helped as well......

started doing some really light deadlifts a couple of week ago and its on the up like, feeling better all the time.
my eclipse pod pack is pretty good whilst playing also, puts some pressure on all the right places.
