Welcome to the forum :) We know that you mostly join because you’ve seen something on the classifieds which you want to buy but do to the nature of modern society some people see it as an opportunity to try to scam our community out of their hard earned money and goods. Please read this post and understand that it’s not a definitive, set in stone set of statements. If we feel you’re challenging the rules because “it doesn’t state that anywhere” your stay here will be short lived.

Basically, don't try to bend or flaunt the rules and guidelines, if we feel you're trying to be a smart ass we'll simply remove you from the members list.

Classifieds Guidelines/Advice thread

As a seller.

Read the rules, then your thread won’t get pulled and you won’t be left wondering why.

http://p8ntballer-forums.com/threads/read-this-classified-rules.21087/

All prices should include all fees where applicable, so price your items accordingly. If you ask for payment as owed this goes against paypal policy so we’re not allowing it here either. If we see that happening your post will be deleted without warning. Repeat offenders will have classifieds access removed and/or a ban.

Postage should be sensible, goods should be ready to ship. One or two days is reasonable, 3 weeks later is not. If you aren’t ready to get the goods delivered don’t offer them for sale.

Pics should be clear.

Damage/blemishes/faults should be clearly documented otherwise expect a paypal claim to be opened against you.

Send everything recorded at least, it’s 75p or something silly for absolute peace of mind. You can prove a package was delivered and signed for or not.

This forum is not ebay. No bidding wars.

As a buyer

Do your homework. Check out the seller, remember you will be sending money to someone you’ve most likely never met and are unlikely to.

Look at previous posts, profile, feedback. If in doubt walk away.

Get details. Their address and a home phone number as well as a mobile.

If something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

PAY THE F*CKING FEES. DO NOT SEND AS PAYMENT OWED, IF IT GOES TITS UP YOU HAVE ZERO COMEBACK.

If a seller asks you to send as owed, alarm bells should be ringing. Think of the payment as insurance, if something is wrong, you have backup.

No trading by PM. If someone won't deal on the open forum, they've something to hide and you have no help from us. If you want to trade with someone you know or trust, go ahead but the Mods won't get involved for any reason if it goes sour.

Overall, use common sense. This is basically an online car boot sale, you wouldn’t expect a warranty from a real car boot and you won’t get one here. Buying second hand you pay your money, you take your chances.

The rules themselves.

Okay boys and girls,
For all to read, here are the rules on the classifieds section. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in your thread suddenly disappearing into another dimension, one that is not nice at all, because the creatures that live there have no equivalent of the word "fluffy".
Don't be put off by the strictness of these rules, or by the amount of them, you will find that they will only make your life easier.

To access the classifieds section your options are as follows.

You must have 20 constructive posts on the forum, ie more than one word on a three year old thread. There is also a time delay of two weeks so spamming the forum with your 20 posts in 15 minutes isn’t going to work. Take your time, have a read, get a feel for the place and how we do things.

OR

Pay for Platinum membership and get IMMEDIATE access as well as more space for PM’s and access to the Platinum Club and Platinum members Classified where NON paintball items may be sold.

The Moderators can and will use their discretion in certain instances.

Rule 1) This is a PAINTBALL forum, and as such only paintball and paintball related articles can be sold/traded here.

Rule 2) Only individuals are allowed to sell/trade through the classifieds section.

Rule 3) Please state a price on each item in classified advertisements!

Rule 4) All items for sale/trade must have photos with your forum username and current date! and be hand written(Click here for info on how to add pics)

Rule 5) No offers or deals by private message!

Rule 6) The selling/trading of 'Brand New' items is Prohibited

Rule 7) No bumping of threads (not even in disguise!).

Rule 8) No "testing the water" or "possible sale" threads.

Rule 9) Do not offer for sale/trade items unsuitable for their intended use.

Rule 10) Air and CO2 bottles, not only do they have to be "in-test", we now require you to state the born date of the bottle in the first post.

Rule 1. This means that you cannot post non paintball items with the sad excuse that you want to trade them for paintball items, or sell them and use the money to buy paintball gear...

Rule 2. Companies and/or semi professional sales have no business being here. Go buy banner space! This also goes for individuals who are grey importing/bulk buying new stuff from one country to sell in another and acting as small businesses.

Rule 3. "Offers" threads. You know what you want for your item, so offers are a waste of time for both parties. If you have no idea of the price of an item start high, you can always lower it.
The Price must be clearly outlined at the start of the post. The price is entirely up to the thread starter and if you do not agree with the price then simply do not pay it ! Or post in their thread that it is cheaper here or there, the owner of the goods decides the price not you.
The price must include postage (to UK mainland) and any fees. A discount can be offered for collection at buyers discretion. The first person to offer the ASKING price gets the goods even if there are offers already tabled but not accepted.

Rule 4.""The for sale/trade post must have an accurate description of the items, with a photograph of the items for sale/trade with your username and current date. This must be hand written and clearly displayed on a piece of paper next to the items. No "i'll add the photos later" do it the same time.

Can you please ensure that the first picture in your thread is of all the kit together. and the piece of paper with your user name and current date of the thread start is clearly shown. Hand written This means with a thick marker, and not with a ball point pen on white paper. As some shots with the flash on makes user names unreadable if we Deem that the user name is unreadable the thread will be deleted.
If there is a marker in the sale can you also ensure this has a named shot as well. due to high value items.

If you offer something in reply to a wanted advert you must still provide a picture with name and date on, the same as if you had advertised it in the for sale/trade section. This is to help prevent people selling/trading items they do not have.Or a working link must be added to a forsale thread that includes the above pics.

http://www.p8ntballer-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=125956

Rule 5. All dealings are to be done within the thread and not by private message. All offers are then visible and nothing 'underhand' will go on.

Rule 6. The forum is going to support the UK paintball retailers, especially those who kindly pay for banner space on the forum which makes this community possible. So, there is a ban on selling/trading 'Brand new' items. 'Like new' is fine as is used or second hand but there will be no sales/trades of brand new in box or not in box as case may be.
This also goes for individuals who are grey importing/bulk buying new stuff from one country to sell in another and acting as small businesses.

Rule 7. There is no need to keep your thread at the top of the page. When people go looking for used gear, they will browse more than just the latest threads. If after a number of days you have had no responses, it just means people are not interested in the item at this point in time. However, if something changes in the details of what you are selling, such as for instance a price drop, it is perfectly alright to add to the thread.
This includes "you have a pm" or "you have mail"

Rule 8. You are either selling and/or trading.

Rule 9. Recently there have been a lot of problems with items being unsuitable for use, if you're selling/trading an item it must be suitable for the use it's designed for. One example is gas bottles either air or co2, no out of test or damaged bottles.this will include DOT bottles
from today we require all bottles for sale/trade or offered in wanted, to bein-test and have theirborn date stated in the post.

This applies to all bottles...air...co2...dive...

Rule 10. All air and co2 bottles offered for sale/trade or in wanted threads MUST be in-test and have their born date/end date stated in the post. There has been some confusion recently with test dates and born dates, resulting in a purchase of an old bottle that was thought to be new'ish.

Personal sales/trades are run by members and whilst we will try to help if there is a dispute we accept no responsibility (legal or otherwise) for any transactions. Please ensure you have accurate details of the seller/trader should any thing go wrong.

What's the difference between air and CO2 tanks when playing
For the ball coming out of the barrel there is no practical difference.

For the gun itself there could be no practical difference or there could be real damage done to electronic guns by co2. There are electric and electronic guns that are capable of being run on co2 but these are the minority

Many people will say air is better than co2, but in some specific circumstances co2 is better than air

In the U.K. are likely to only find co2 being used by sites that are exclusively for punters
If the site runs walkons or events then it will run on air

For sites Co2 does not have the investment expense of a full compressed air system, but on a fill by fill basis it has the costs and logistics of getting bulk co2 onto the site
Co2 cylinders should be emptied before refilling

Air can be provided via scuba cylinders but can only be practically provided at a site with a compressor, plus some holding tanks so that you don't have to run the compressor constantly
Air is filled by adding the air, so you can just top up between games

Co2 was the original propellant in paintball and when people migrated to air the original regulators were at approx 800-850psi which matched the gaseous state of co2

Co2 is still going strong for pistols etc with small 12 gram disposable cylinders - but can equally have air adaptors added

I have Tippmann 98s which are 7+ years old and have been used only on Co2 and they run like they are new. They are bulletproof markers, but even so, they break no less than the air ones. Little drop of air tool oil in the gas pipe they run like they have come out of the box.

Simple, Co2 is crap so don't use it.

Air is much more consistent and better for your marker. Most high end guns won't be able to be used with CO2 as it will freeze your o-rings internally.
Never used a dukie then, lol. My dukie chrono'd at 350 of a co2 sparklet on arrival and I had to turn it way down to make it compliant. Sparklet 25 shots at consistent fps. Maybe just a cracking market. Thanks for the add btw.

Question as a newbie to the forum. How do I develop suffice privileges in order to respond to wanted ads or to post for sale. I have an extensive collection I have finally committed to part with. All great clobber, must never fielded and certain to be of interest to buyers.
