Forces Cup Event

Why are we fundraising and who is it for?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Forces Cup event has been organised as a fundraising event for forces charities and in memory of my cousin RFN Martin Kinggett, who was killed in action 4 years ago in Sangin, Afghanistan. (See link below for more information)

Losing a loved one in such circumstances is never easy to deal with and our family has received some wonderful support since his death, particularly from two fantastic charities. We would like to give back to the charities by fundraising for them in Martin's Memory. The charities we will be supporting for this event are:

CARE FOR CASUALTIES (The Rifles)
Since 2007, The Rifles have suffered more casualties than any other regiment with 54 Killed in Action and 290 seriously wounded. Most have been injured by IEDs which cause complex multiple trauma. Some injuries are not obvious now – evidence shows that psychological problems will develop in ex soldiers years after their service ends. Within the next 3 years all our battalions can expect to deploy once again on operations in Afghanistan.

FORCES SUPPORT CHARITY
The Forces Support Charity was set up in honour of all our brave service personnel lost in current and recent conflicts or whilst serving with-in these hard times.
We want to thank all who have given their lives, by ensuring that their families DO have the practical support and assistance they need.
