OK, we had a little problem here in that one of the candidates up for selection, Twizz, has told us he cannot actually commit to the requirements of a player's rep.
The player's rep has to be able to attend meetings once every six weeks or so usually at the Holiday Inn near Junction 23 on the M1.

This withdrawal has a huge effect on the poll because it was turning into a two-horse race between Twizz and Lump and it pretty much invaidates the whole process.
Since this is a democratic process we are indulged in here, I think it appropriate we throw it open to you lot to suggest the next move .......
Get your thinking hats on and hopefully come up with a course of action and I'll do my best to comply.

I think that however we do it, Lump is going to come out the winner.

He's a good man for the job, and he will have my full support.

Personally, I think all votes should be classed as invalid and this poll started again. This means that voters for Twizz (who has now stood down) can re-vote for either Lump or Jon (assuming no-one else puts their name forward).

Actually, how/when did names actually go forward? Did I miss that bit? No - I am not putting my name forward (you'll all be glad to hear) as I don't play any more and anyone who does go on the above list does need to be a current player.

Does that mean you are pulling out of the 'poll' Jon?

I'm confused now ;)
No, I'm not pulling out, Andy.

But looking at the poll results so far, Lump was way out in front of me.

The way I see it, the Feds are about unity and working together, so if Lump is the people's choice, that's fine by me and I will support him.

However, if the selection process is to be done again, I would still like to be considered as I believe I could do something worthwhile as a rep.

Lovetone - does Markie actually want to/can do it? If so, then I think he needs to say so in here. Otherwise, we could end up with a Twizz scenario (Twizz can't be certain of being available for the meetings - that's why he pulled out).

[puts Devil's advocate hat on] Another thing not considered, not all players come on this forum. Lump may end up being the forum users choice - but is this forum representative of all the players that play Fed sanctioned events? Is a ballot at these events more democratic? [removes hat]

If we are realistically going to use this forum to choose the rep then we should be aware that there is no going up against Lump, (rightfully) he is going to win the popularity contest everytime, he's a genuinely nice guy and they are few and far between, the users have spoken and that won't change, you can invite Markie to be in the poll but that won't change the outcome ,he may be a damn good choice, as Twizz was, but that's going to mean nothing on here.

I say, the king is dead, long live the king.

[hands crown to Lump]

Or you Ballot the players as they sign in at the Fed Cup .
