So I've heard of the Tippmann Gryphon and the Spyder Victor. Are there any other cheap guns out there?

Avoid both with a bargepole IMHO. Look at something secondhand... off the top of my head, and odler Etek, Mini or older egos and DMs would be available under £150 secondhand.

I agree with buying second hand.
I personally am a big fan of FEP quests as an entry level shooter
Great shooting markers, simple operation and maintenance, pretty cheap second hand.
Biggest issue is lack of parts for repairs if needed. mostly the motherboards but
If you find one that is in good shape and has one of the better boards (virtue, lucky, ape) than that shouldn't be an issue.

The others listed above are also nice markers, perhaps better choices. Just wanted to present another option.

As above is would stay away from the spyders and tippmann you can pick up cheep markers on here I maybe putting my sons proto slg on soon cheep

And there was me thinking that either would be perfect to start off with! I suppose it would be worth the extra money on getting something better though.
