@Ash - DYE Europe needn't worry about the property values in the principality of Croydonia, feedback from Bitburg suggests that there is unlikely to be a UK round of the MS next year.

And before there is a massive outrage, think long and hard about who is to blame for that, I'll give you a clue, it's the majority of the British tournament playing public for not supporting the event by actually playing it!

That could be spun as a game-changing announcement for the Brexit Vote Remain campaign ;)

There were loads of teams in Basildon last year from the UK. There aren't a lot signed up yet, because it's still a bit off.

The DPL though with over 500 teams is incredibly huge and will always pack up the Bitburg event.

According to Laurent last year, the UK is the only place in Europe to hold an event in July as everywhere else was way too hot across the continent. Unless it's like...Sweden or something.

I guess they're looking at the lack of British teams playing the other events, rather Campaign on it's own.

Or if they held the event in Norway/Sweden/France/Germany/Italy would they get more teams from those countries attending, than the number of British teams playing at Campaign.

The other issue is that July is a bad time for any event as it's just when everybody gets into pre-holiday (vacation for @Spikerz ) mode, Holding the event in September made a lot more sense as there were at least new shineys to keep up the interest from the trade ;)

That and the fact that, apparently, it never ever rains anywhere in Europe, except for Britain, where it apparently rains all the time, and if it does rain anywhere in Europe ever, it is because the British are there and have brought the rain with them, as it is common knowledge that everybody with a UK passport also has a personal rain cloud issued at the same time by the Met Office to follow them wherever they may travel.

I could have seriously punched several people on Sunday afternoon, "You British, you bringz ze rain, you wantz to make uz practice for Bazildon".

Instead I just called them sausage/snail eating (insert stereotypical national dish as appropriate) xenophobic casually racist ****s!

LOL nice. Last year it was what 38 degrees C? It was feckin hot I remember that for London. There was one morning I think Sunday, where there was a tiny amount of rain that lasted like 30 minutes but wasn't bad at all.

We had rain in Spain and crazy assed winds. So pfft. I like having August off as that's when most folks in Ireland, and even me bail for holidays :D

After just booking a hotel for basildon at a ridiculous £220 a night I for one won't be sad to not have a mills there. They put their prices up just because they know there's lots if teams wanting places . In Germany this is illegal and the same hotel will cost you the same whatever event is on. Plus the mills in Basildon us a poor cousin for the rest of the events. The VIP area in Basildon is non existent and in the rest of Europe it's quite nice. Still not as good as any psp or nxl vip areas though.
So I for one won't be weeping at the lack of basildon.
