Hi guys I've fired off an email to Nicky, but the PE guys aren't back at work until the 3rd or so and I have tomorrow free to tinker with it. I bought an EGO11 new back in October, and straight away I put the DART kit into it. On Saturday, I had a game and ran into problems (Was playing woodsball). I played 2x45min games and it was fine. The 3rd 45min game, I noticed that after about a hopper and 2 pods, the marker wouldn't cycle properly. It would shoot a couple of balls normally, then the bolt would slow down until it wouldn't cycle any longer. If I left it alone a few seconds, it would shoot 1 ball normally, then shoot down until it wouldn't cycle again. The marker was registering trigger pulls. I went back to the safe zone and changed the battery out (it was fresh in today - only ever use Procells). I stripped the marker and increased the dwell to 16 and went out again. Couldn't see anything wrong with the HPR or gunk on the rammer/bolt. So I went back out. Again, was shooting fine for a hopper and 2 pods (basically around 1000-1500psi used on a 3K fill) and it did exactly the same. Back to the safe zone and I put my bottle onto someone elses Axe and shot around 500 balls out of it, and no shootdown, so the reg on the bottle appears to be fine. A friend who bought the same colour Ego at the same time as me (both were team guns), said he had the same issue at Time Wars and it was the solenoid. Does this sound like the solenoid? I have taken the reg apart last night and it is clean - no gunk in there. I turned the marker on, turned eyes off and pulled the trigger. 1st time, the bolt didn't cycle. 2nd time it did. The rammer moves nicely if I do it by hand. Any ideas? The valve is set to 1/7, as mentioned in various threads to make it smoother. Bottle reg is set to HP. Last time I played was November and at the end of the day, it had 7,500 balls through her. I put about 2500 more through her at the weekend, so around 10,000 balls in total. Weather was wet out and about 6C.
Have you checked the lpr? Could need resetting as marker has bedded in. Might just need turning up a little. Set to standard as per instructions.
I haven't checked the LPR - never tend to touch it. Will take it off, strip it down and re-lube it and try again. Going to be hard to test as i'll need to put a hopper and a few pods through it before it'll start doing it again..
Hmmmm I put a fresh one in at the start of the day, and a new one in when the problem occured. I didn't try a 3rd one though. As mentioned, it was a Procell (only ever use them). Last night when I was checking the HPR, the battery was reading 100%. I'll try another one though - got about 20 Procells
Lpr controls the rammer. With marker bedded in and cold weather causing grease to be thicker. Plus you haven't touched it since had it. After rapid fire might just be sticking a little. So rammer cant cycle correctly. Check with manual on correct setting. After stipping and regreasing. Also reset the dwell to standard. See how you get on.
The gun read 100% when i started having my issue. But it was doing the same as yours. changed the battery and it worked ok for one day and then did the same. So sent it to planet to see if there is another issue somewhere
Cheers bud. Will reset it to factory settings and set the front and back valves to 5/7 (from memory), lube the HPR and LPR, oil the rammer and put a tiny bit of oil on the bolt too. See how that goes! The only reason I thought solenoid, was because of my m8 having the same issue and Nicky said it was the solenoid... Thanks again
I may have jumped the gun about the solenoid... I stripped the marker and serviced the HPR and LPR then re-assembled the marker. I shot 3000psi worth of dry firing, and no change in the air hitting my hand or the bolt slowing down. So maybe it was a case that all I needed to do was service the HPR and LPR? I can't test it with paintballs until Feb @ Armogeddon PS - I thought the GEO2.1/3 / EGO11's now have a filter in the HPR? Mine didnt.. or was I thinking of another marker?
I *think* I am all sorted... Robert Pozderka suggested going to my local site and shooting off a bag of paint to make sure the problem was resolved with the HPR and LPR maintenance but that is an 80mi round trip. Might see if I can sneak along to the YPC Walkon at the end of the month to test it before Armogeddon...
