Also might be worth pointing out that the bottle in question may need looking at, if the regulator is starting to separate from the bottle, you could end up with a steel rocket in your hands...

Get it to a certified airsmith (usually people who do the fills at your local site/field) who can make sure the reg is tightened to the bottle and see that the bonnet is tightened down properly or advise of you're looking at a new reg/bottle.

sounds like the bottle and asa are cross threaded, will look like they have been sanded(shiney metal) they will be slightly bent as well, so dont try putting another bottle on the marker or the bottle on another marker as that is going to knack more threads.
