Personal preference I guess, but I don't find it any more stable than holding the reg at the bottom and my thumb up the side.

It's called "pawing" and you can thank PGi for the phrase

It has it's uses, I like it for running and gunning recently but not so much for being tight / snapping.

i would have thought that pawing it whilst running and gunning would result in barrel swaying as the movement of you body goes through your arms and in holding it at the barrel, wouldn't the movement just transfer

suppose if you hold it tight, was just wondering what people thought, dnt like it myself

hold mine like this, altho i do hold it slightly different with gloves on, not sure why..

im used to doing that like in the first pic, not so much with the way the hand grasp's the reg and barrel but similar, epescially with the butt of the tank right against my shoulder
i cant really keep tight and move well if the tank is to the upper part of my shoulder like the second pic, god knows how some survive with putting the tank under their arms
