Invert Mini slow to start firing

I've bought my girlfriend a mini, and it shoots fine - nice and consistent, no breaks or other issues, but it won't fire for about thirty seconds or so and a few trigger pulls. The first time it fires, the ball barely leaves the barrel, but then it picks up and shoots fine until it's turns off.
Not stripped it down yet, as I'm waiting on a spares kit before I investigate! Any ideas what to look for?

Solenoid. Try a new battery but then
The eyes off and fire if no clicks till a few trigger pulls then the solenoids not firing. Pretty common problem

Defo not the battery - tried two different Duracells, both brand new. TBH, not been an issue, as it works fine once it gets going. Would be nice to sort though...

Had the exact same problem with my mini gs. As @reaperuk91 said, it's probably the solenoid.

It's quite easy to sort. It just pulls apart and can be cleaned with a cloth. Solved the problem with mine ~15,000 shots ago and hasn't missed a beat since.
