You can get a job at a paintball site, shop, manufacturer
Marshaling is the easiest to get into, and could be the first step in a career. Sites may have a full timer who becomes the head Marshall and odd job man doing site maintenance through the week
You are not going to get rich out of those
You could invent the future of paintball and become a paintball millionaire, or you may not

This.

No chance you'll make a fortune playing, unless of course you're simply the best player in the world. In which case you'll make a bit of money, then spend the rest of your time travelling and trying to sell your sponsor provided kit at massively inflated prices because it has your autograph on it.

If you work hard, get good, run clinics, win events, then you might just find yourself in your late twenties unemployed and broke with a cupboard full of trophies and nothing on your CV....

You might, if you are exceptionally lucky, be paid a little for playing - but the only people really making money are not running around with a marker...

Possibly in the future when the sport has grown, but at the moment, no.
There are very few sports that people can be truely 'professional' in the sense that they can make a living out of it
Note how many athletes / Olympians are in the army/navy/air force, there are few jobs that someone can keep down with a decent wage and put time into training, travel and competing
Also spot the news articles that come up that x gold medalist has lost their post that gave them 7 days per week to train
Football is not realy an exception to the rule, it's a money spinner that both has the public subsidising the wages in promo materiels, season tickets and Sky sports and is one of the few areas of busiess that a club can rock up millions in debt then fold and sell up for £1

Paintball as a sport has had its time in the limelight with tv etc, perhaps one day it will be the worldwide phenomena and paintball pros will be moddeling pants on billboards (real pants not trousers)
Paintball is pretty popular but isn't going to pay the players enough to play, live, travel the world and have a private life

Well, thanks for shattering my dreams, Dusty.

What am I going to to with the 5 "Dinnersty" guns I have?

They were autographed by Brian Greenspunk, Olivia Lang, Tyler Harmonica, Alec Frigs and Donut Glaze (Coach).

Unless they are all very bad at spelling, I've been taken for a ride.
