I have another gun recommendation:
The Ruger 10/22
shoots a .22 round, cheap, easy to find, light.
Can legally and easily be fitted with a drum or double drum mag to hold 50-100 rounds (because it's a rim-fire semi-auto and not centre-fire)
Lightweight, quiet, very accurate. Perfect for small game, but also capable of a lethal head-shot up to 1400 yards.

another good thing about your .22 round is that, like the 9mm and .45acp, you can shoot the round in rifles or pistols, meaning one round for multiple mission scenarios.

If we are talking zombie outbreak I would hunker down at my oldmans. There I would fabricate carbon fiber plate armour that should be light weight at offer protection against bites etc.
I would then make up a light weight weapon and shield and secure the area before getting food etc.
