Your first tourney

Well, this Sunday is my 1st paintball tournament and I am starting to brick myself. Never played in a team before, and only played on an airball field once during a training session.

Any tips for a newbie tournament player? I *think* my position is centre-back.

Take it as it comes. You might win a few you might lose a few. I went out to my first tourney last year expecting to be beaten into the dirt by every baller with a blob of paint and we won our first 3 games of the day and the another one. All in all won 4 lost 4. I was so excited I nearly wet myself (don't do that). You'll love it win or lose so just enjoy.

my advice for a back center is to stay tight and shoot lots and lots of paint... and maybe shoot some players... also if your like the back men on the team i play for (deja vous) they make all us front guys do the work then they come waddling up to take the glory of the flag hang E.G. fat sam

good luck, relax and have fun. Dont worry about getting shot out or making trick moves.

if your back centre shoot fast and tell everyone where the opposition is.

My communcation line is pretty good - not a super-fast shooter though, but it'll build up over time. I think I average at about 12-15bps - sometimes do slightly faster flurries but my Egg only goes to 19bps.

12-15 per second is fast enough, just make sure your putting it in the right place ie lanes and stay tight.

If you're playing back center just remember not to go 'looking' for the kills. Let your front guy do that. Just try to menipulate(sp) the opposing team and keep your front men alive.
