Yep, i believe tom allen did one...much easier and quicker than dye.

car light tint spray...yes, more layers = darker...do it, you know it makes sense.

I've used this product from Tamiya.

Tamiya color PS range, polycarbonate paint. This stuff etches into the plastic, and cannot be removed. I've sprayed an egg, one side smoke and one side black, on the inside. It does not degrade from paint, or wear, this stuff is tuff.

Most model shops sell it.
