Did he shoot me, yes eventually I know I am good but Neo I am not lol

Did i get wiped down, no becasue the ref was almost man handling the player away and I was on the move further up the snake and the game was won before they got to me. Tell me anyplayer that will not take the oppurtunity to move and get the Gs

Did I speak to the ref no, we only have 2 mins and was not about to waste that time. I think Twizz the team captain was trying to throttle someone else at that point lol

I fully back everyone the NSPL, The Federation and know the refs do a thankless task and without them we would be not playing, so this is no way a dig, slander, etc it is a general comment from my personal experience on that field.

Thanks for hosting a great event Sid, thanks to all the marshals on the div one field.

Shame it had to end up the way it did.. I dont think I can drill and practise to counter getting shot from the side line so I think I'll try and hide in the middle a bit more

OK I have had a decent phone coversation with JB who assures me HE did not shoot from outside the netting, he has admitted to one balling JW as he was walking off the field but insists that he was well INSIDE the netting when he did so.

He has not appologised for the one-balling or anything else that he did or did not do during the day but wanted me to come back on and clarify the point of shooting from outside the net so I have.

From the placing of the shot on the back of JW's neck it would seem un-likely the shot came from JB's marker in this manner so who did fire the shot ?

Is anyone going to man up to it ?

Laters :)

Exactly that happened at one Freekz tournament.
Dan, if this is the event I'm thinking of when a whole team left the deadbox to set about Jamie then Jamie's defence, he had the flag in transit when he was shot in the back from the deadbox. OK, possibly he shouldn't have spun and shot back and wasn't the one banned for the rest of the day.

Nor was he the one who had lit up a the other team's last remaining player after he had been eliminated, another classic case of a player with the experience to know better wandering around with gun in hand but no hand on head, when Jamie's team mate clocked him he shot him not knowing he was already eliminated.

Not a personal dig at you Dan but further evidence that Jamie's reputation precedes him. Twizz will no doubt be able to confirm that when playing on the same team in Paris last year he was warned of the possibility of Jamie getting a ban by the field ultimate, even before their first game.

As I have already said I have no personal issues with Jamie and he has always treated me with the utmost respect. I have a great deal of respect for his ability as a player. However, Jamie needs to rethink his attitude as his notoriety will be his downfall.

Just to show his other side, one of my favourite personal images is from the CC '07 ECi/Wikings game, Twizz has the flag in transit as Wikings last live player emerged from the snake totally out of paint, Jamie has his gun levelled at him and is pointing him towards the dead box!

In terms of what happend with Beadle, he's a really nice guy who i have alot of respect for who has always helped me out, and therefore although i witnessed both instances i was not close enght to see if it was acahlly beadle who did the over shooting (diddnt look like his barrel) and had my head in my kit bag when the shooting threw the netting ocored.
this is the most pointless post ever! you state "although i witnessed both instances" and then you completley contradict yourself by saying "i was not close enough to see if it was actually beadle who did the overshooting" and then you say "i had my head in my kit bag when the shooting through the net occured" so did you actually see ANY of the 2 instances cause it sure as hell doesn't sound like it to me.

with regard to round 1 being a dissapointment..... i disagree, a great site, a great series and a great laugh. what more could we want... ok the marshalling was a little ropey at times, there was one instance when gran ran down dorito side against us got eliminated by our dorito player and then continued to run down and shoot 2 more of our players (me and baker) ok me and baker were wiped down which was a good call from the ultimate but the correct call would of been to 1-4-1 gran, but these things happen, we all try it on now and then, there was no love lost between us and gran and we had a joke about it afterwards. All of those people complaining about having $hit calls made against them, have a think how many calls you have had in your favour, i bet its just as many, marshalls are only human, they make mistakes.

As for the delays.... you should have driven home on the M25 if you want delays, 3 and half hours to get back to Bristol!!!! Nobody could help what happened with the air, but it was dealt with as quickly as humanly possible.

With the Beadle incident, yes the guy is renowned for being somewhat of a "cheat" for want of a better word, but unless you 100% saw him shoot through the netting, then shut up! there are alot of comments that say "if he did do it he should be banned" these posters obviously didn't see what happened so keep your noses out. I don't like half the stuff the guy does, but i wont slag him off on hearsay!

Anyway a massive thanks to syd, yorkie, all the marshall, vendors, food van, and of course all the players for making it a great event.

Ok, I *think* I know the incident you are talking about now (field 2 in the afternoon, you play for Tigers Siberian, yes?) - the Ref was me and and the running player was not hit until he was about 3-4 metres from you, you were wiped down and I was unable to pull the 1-4-1 as your team had already shot the last player, but if there was a live player then a penalty would have been applied.

If I'm wrong, then my apologies.

Div2 format: There are two trains of thought on this but I personally think the best format is splitting the teams into small groups and team A plays B then team D plays C whilst team A and B pot up then team A and B play whilst the other team pots ect ect. This allows the field to be constantly in use whilst the team gets ready and I THINK (though don’t quote me on this) it is the format the PSP were using when I was last there.
Agree with Jay, regarding scheduling/organisation, I think it was fine given it's a totally new format, but it would be much better if it were....

A vs. B
C vs. D
A vs. B
C vs. D

Etcetera. While my guys were playing, we were kinda like, "Who are we playing now? Who are we playing then? Who did we just play?".

At any rate, calling this event a disappointment is, quite frankly, complete folly. As hacked off as I got at some points during, it was nothing to do with the tournament that Syd and Yorkie have brilliantly run.

Big up for the NSPL.

How ironic, no it was field 1 with tigers 2 but I was coaching the snake player you are talking about and that incident was reffed perfectly.

Personally for me i felt the biggest bad part of the day was the 5+ hour wait from playing the morning, to playing the finals in the afternoon! far far to long to wait! lose all momentum for playing etc!

i wasnt a fan of the round robin system, felt it very confusing for most involved including the refs, and meant some quick points and some waits! not expected!
I think most people felt it should replicate the millenium profile, consecutive points for the games, 3 min turn arounds, no coaching! i do understand syd's reasoning for allowing coaching, as a progressive step to playing d1 X-ball, however we all know most of use the uk series as practice etc for milleniums at some point of the year, even ifits just for the campaign cup! so why practice with different rules!

The reffing is always going to be contested, and of course we all had at least a descision or 2 go against us! but not too bad through the day!
