There is one more event left this year and before i set a date i would like some input on posible changes so we can get the rules and mode of play wraped up before next year where teams will be seeded and rules mostly set in stone.
I would also like people who have not played F5 yet to post thier ideas and discuss them so we can make this format what the players actualy want and develope it further

1 One idea was to make the buzzer only stay on for the team that hits it for 1 min that way teams would have to rehit the buzzer after 60 seconds to keep control of it what do you think of this it would mean having to reprograme the board but it can be done .

2 Do we keep the new Baton armband idea .

3 Do we keep the diagonal lines in to prevent teams locking defending teams in.

4 Any ideas you guys may have.

1: Im not sure about this idea. In one way it will make things interesting because it will be a constant battle for the buzzer and not just getting it then locking the field down, making the game one sided, and it will give the team without the buzzer a fighting chance. However, when the teams are moved into divisions it will be a much closer battle anyway. For example our last game of the last event we played outrage and it was very close, with only about 5 points difference for the buzzer and the same with the kill difference. Is there a need for a time limit on the buzzer when the teams are more evenly matched and already fighting back and forth for the buzzer anyway? I think it should probably stay as it is, and hope that with teams more evenly matched there wont be a need for it.

2: I liked the new baton armband system. It worked well, changing of players was simple and easy.

3: Diagonal lines were a good idea, it didnt change the game much and again only seems to really matter when the teams arent evenly matched, as one team dominates and moves right up the field. I dont think this will happen when teams are playing against teams of a similar level.

4: im out of ideas for the moment, but if i think of anything i would like to add, il post it up another time. Overall though, especially after playing a normal 5 man event yesterday, this format is what i want to play in the future, without a doubt.

So i assume your not feeling to good mate after yesturday. Nice to play on the same field as you mate This is def something i must and want to try.

As a person that will prob just come up on my own is there a scratch team that enters each month or is it wise to get into or bring a team with you.

Ive spoken to so many ppl about this and its all good feedback. Shame its the last one aswell this month but always next session or are you looking to run a winter series ???

Rich, if you were coming on your own, there are always a few teams that would be willing to have you play for them. Just get in contact with me in good time, and I'll sort you a home bud.

Cecil, I think the only change Id like to see is a bigger flashing light to show who has the buzzer. On field, you can see pretty good most of the time, but as a spectator I could just see it, and in the pits we were struggling a little but managed. Dont think its necessity, but would be rather good if implemented.

Edit: thinking about it, don't think this part is needed.

Liked the patches, even if they look crap. Not sure what else could be done.

1. Buzzer... It works how it is, perhaps programme the other board for the 60 sec idea and trial it with some teams over winter to see if it is liked?

2. Armband Batons :thumb: made it much easier for the pit marshal.

3. Diagonal lines... Didn't make any difference on us pinning the team in we played first so I would say they make no difference scrap them :D

4. I think altering the pits to twin pits at each end may make the day roll a little faster? But then again it seemed to flow well at the last event, but as I was on the field marshalling I couldn't see the between game gap from the side. It seemed quick from the field let us know???

4. Giving back the bands after the game perhaps needs to be down to the team captain & perhaps a point penalty for not getting them back in a set time frame?
Lots of times we ended up trawling the safe zone for bands so we could get the next game under way...

Ps Rich Storm puts 2 teams in, one will have a space for you

As it was the first time me and my son played this format i can only say good things but would like to see added to maybe help;

The light linked to the buzzer as a visual indication to who is in control of it,

Breifing to lay down the law, rule changes etc,

Time table and the day run as close as possible to it so we all get the games in and home to rest (this is coz i am old and need my rest)

I hope this helps, Wiggles .

i don't think the last one will be the august bank holiday but latter.john was saying that they want to do some work on the field and make the last one a preview of the series for next year.

Hi John.

1: i agree with Mini Bolter the closer the teams are matched the less likely they are to dominate the other. We had a great game with Storm ending like Bolter said very close. if you was to try something with the buzzer may be leave it a little longer than a minute possibly split it into 5mins segments, then if one team did dominate you would still have 2 segments to try again..

2: arm bands were fine you just had to remember to take them off as you was running back after being shot.

3: the diagonal lines was fine leave it in..

4: i gotta say i like the red flashing light better much easier to see from the pits..

5: give it a go without the snake, may be tea bags both sides or poss push a tower and large can close together just to see how it plays without the snake..

6: put a line of netting up behind pits so other team can kit up behind it then when game finishes they are there already, their just got to move kit to the other side..

Keep going John great event but hey you cant stop yet theres time for at least 2 more events bert..
