Just a pointer buddy, if you have financial issues now, running a car in LONDON is going to be incredibly expensive. I'd think about that one, as a student you wont have much money anyway, let alone finances to piss away running a car in the inner city.

if your university does have a 'society' it will be cheap to join. in terms of tournament teams, not scenario or days out (in which case they will fleece you ****ing dry). but anyway tournaments and their costs should be familiar, but in terms of how the society is run, if they charge you a few quid for air each week and do the one off live paint now and then, id go for it, its more than manageable from my experience. know nothing about London though m8 in terms of living costs.

Do some finances. There are plently of books out there on dealing with your student income (loan) and how to break it down over the term in a manageable way. Ask your Parents if they plan to support you in any way whilst you're at University. Mine don't, so I earn extra on the side to pay for extra living costs (such as food) and I put aside around £75 or so a month so I can play. Since I rarely drink (only when there's a hot girl), expenses are easier for me. I'm also in third year, and from my experience it is much easier to have a defined idea of how much time yu want to commit.

It's by no means a bad idea to play paintball whilst at Uni. You'll meet a great many people who have more going on in their lives than partying with the occasional lecture. It's also a great stress relief. But if you want to commit to a team, set an amount to the side every week/month and discipline yourself not to touch it except for paintball. This way, you earn a reputation as a player who can always be there. That, in my experience, is far, far better than a player who can play awesomely but only let's you know if he's coming the night before. As a society "official", that is annoying to organize.

Also, a couple of final notes, if you'd like any help when it comes to planning monies over the next few years, drop me a line and I'll be happy to help. There's also a Mercenary contingent of players from Uni's that don't have teams.

I was pretty much fully sponsored when I was in uni, so I played like every weekend. And did f**k all work and pissed my degree away. It's not all about the money.

Had a great time though.

Ah, but look at you now - who else can take off their clothes at work and not get sacked for sexual harrassment?

Living the dream.

I would say paintball has a good social side that you can keep to with little or no money spent, generally if you are "around" at a tournament (especially lower leagues I don't know which level you play at) there are teams who need a guest to play for free/paint only due to injury or people not making it... i would rather train than hit the pub & they cost the same nowadays

As long as you are straight with your team about your Real life commitments you shouldn't have any problems playing occasionally through university, my bro did
