Stolen from today's TWB, if you shoot yourself in the foot you're out - a shot on you or your equipment is you out regardless of who shot it, so logically a barrel break is you out.

Very good point, i just find that could be a little unfair as barrel breaks happen to the best of players, where as shooting yourself in the foot is your fault and if a team mate shoots you you blame them!

We'll rely on you to lead the way from now on by calling yourself out as all honest players would........

Sweet, everyone's going to be shooting winter paint and games are going to last a fortnight without any eliminations because they are worried about a barrel break. Or lets use our better judgement and think about it for a second.

If you drop a ball when loading and then tread on it are you out? I suggest no as the ball had not been fired but a Marshal finding the "hit" wouldn't know that. Following this logic, I would suggest a ball is not live until it leaves the barrel in which case a burst inside the barrel is not an elimination. If this is not the case then could you not just throw a ball at someone to eliminate them? Don't know the official answer to this, just putting the questions out there.

Suppose it depends exactly what the rules say about when a marker is considered fired, is it when you pull the trigger or when the ball leaves the barrel.

Re the everyone shooting winter paint, suppose it would be an interesting mix of people shooting hard paint fast and fragile paint slow, it'd give the manufactures something to do as well developing markers that are even more gentle on paint and paint manufactures better paint.
