Hi All,

I’m not totally new but I guess a newbie, I’ve played the odd game with mates etc but have wanted for a while to get more serious about Paintball.

Been following a few leads and have come across Warped in Cosford, I’ll ping them an e-mail in the week.....anywhere else people could suggest where I start looking?

I’m from the Walsall Area so anywhere that’s close to their would be great ;)

* I am aware we’re still in Lockdown but I’ve been keeping my eyes on a few places and have noticed that places are starting to open up hence the questions :giggle:

The Birmingham area is quite well served.

You have Warped, and they also run a big game annually at Swynerton army training area (North vs South)
There’s NPF Bassets Pole near Sutton Coldfield. That is quite a historic site in paintball, and also the home of the Angel brand. They were running an annual big game festival Paintfest but have ceased that. We’ll have to keep an eye to see what they bring back in the future.
Both Warped and NvS run walkons which will allow you to move on from basic rental and using your own gear.
CPPS is run at Rodbaston college Penkridge. It’s the primary UK tournament venue and series. Normally they would have events on roughly a monthly basis through the season plus practice weekends.
Turning up as a non player to watch is welcome and free, along with the benefit of checking out the traders to get hands on with some gear instead of ordering on the internet.

So if I turned up for a walkon at Warped I’d need
my own gear? I can get a helmet fairly easily but it’ll do a bit of saving to get a Marker etc. I know they have a walk on hopefully
on the 4th of July that I wanted to go to

Is that just for teams?

I wouldn’t mind doing that, maybe if I could also find a crew/group/team to get involved with too so it’s more of a regular thing

Walkons are aimed at players with their own gear - but contact warped and they may be able to supply you with the gear to play.

CPPS does require you to be in a team. But they have leagues at various levels from new player to elite.
There are plenty of teams in the area and they are always welcoming someone who is interested

Where would I start looking for local teams etc? Like I say I’m a few years out of the scene so things have changed a bit o_O
I’ve tweaked your thread title to flag up that you’re based in Walsall.
A few teams watch the forum, but paintball is still quite fragmented on Facebook
In normal circumstances a stroll around CPPS and saying hi to a couple of people at the trade stands or watching the fields usually soon gets teams pointed out to you. The staging area flips between hectic and relaxation so you could say hi to particular teams —— that may be different this year as leagues have been modified to fit them into the remaining year once open
Walkons are the best opportunity - paintball works as a community as much in the safe zone as on field

Saying hi on the UK paintball Facebook could give you some contacts

I don’t know if there’s a walkon page for Warped but there is a ‘paintball club’ page:

NPF:
Apologies and thanks for all the help. Already joined the Warped Page and I’ve just joined the UK Paintball Page, let’s see where it leads
