Where is the mighty Robbo ???

Have not heard any of his lovely rants on here for a while, Dont get me wrong, have never personally met him but just love his words of wisdon about p8ntball, his "if you dont like it then f*** off" attitude and his flaming capabilities !!!!!

I suppose that due the the new mods, he is probably sitting on some awfullly sunny beach, drinking a cold beer with a gorgeous young chick on his arm.

Just bored and curious more then anything !!

:D

I'm lurking in the shadows and enjoying my sabbatical thanks very much:)

I have heard a few rumours as to reasons for my holiday from these boards, none of which are true I hasten to add.
I have had a few breaks from paintball in my time and this is the first time I have visited a paintball website for a long time.
I have lived and died this sport for 20 years and I think a break every now and again does much to recharge the batteries and interest.
I had been getting increasingly frustrated with the demise of UK paintball and some of the people we have involved and if I wanted to prevent my head from going bang, I decided to take a break.
It was quite difficult for me to reconcile what I know this country is capable of in terms of producing great players and great teams with what I was seeing around me as representatives for this country.

It's not all the teams/ player's fault, nowhere near, it's also because of the present structure of tournaments, namely the Millennium Series.
The locked league system has little to do with catering for team's wishes and a whole lot more to do with creating a manageable income stream.
That in itself isn't a bad thing as we must ensure the survival of the Millennium and without this income, the Series would have possibly collapsed but as a consequence of this 'locked' regime, European teams are slipping irrevocably further and further away from the Yanks....
Might not be a problem for some, but for me, it makes me kinda sick really but as some wise man once said somewhere, 'People get what they deserve' .... is he right?
In this instance I mean...

Just a thought

We need someone with some serious influence to sort out a UK league system, having some kind of premier (professional) division and then a set of leagues going from novice to semi-pro.

I know this has been talked about a lot on and off this forum, but with the way things are going at the moment, it is becoming ever more relevant.

Needs someone who knows the industry inside and out with the players and sport in mind, and who won't take any sh*t from anyone. Wonder who the best man for the job is?
