its the proto digi camo:

http://www.protopaintball.com/shop/euen/barrels/proto-barrel-tip-camo.html

only place i've seen it it the protopaintball.com website, but i don't really wana order from there because:
a) its a horrible website to navigate, dead slow and hard to get along with
b) i wanted to compare prices, see if it was cheaper elsewhere

i'm after the 16" variant.

plus if i buy a set of backs that aren't proto/dye, say empire or a freak kit that were in autococker fitment, would this proto camo front piece deffo fit onto the backs?

thanks in advance.

p.s. i will end up buying from that website if its not stocked elsewhere lol

cheers,

mike.

if i were you id go for a .690 or .693 ultralite back to go with it, and your laughing

nope it says proto on it lol i know what you're saying, dye/proto same thing really. i'm looking at experimenting with backs so you think i should stick with dye, or even proto backs (if there are any)?

thanks matey, thats brill. :D

yeah i'm a bit unsure about backs, i'm looking at swapping my carbon fibre nightstick with someone for a back set but i really wanted this tip so i might just sell the nightstick and buy a back piece.

is there anyway of knowing for sure which of the two bores is gonna be best fit for the paint i use? i mean i know the calibre of the paint but i understand it'll expand and contract throughout the day so i dunno what size is gonna be best.

i soooo want a complete set but thats hellla pricey

i'm sure i looked there but didn't see it? i deffo tried lips, it wasn't on there. that was about a month ago though

yup was gonna overbore and maybe buy a tighter bore as well just to experiment. as the marker i'm using (pmr) is very inconsistent with its shot placement. i used the nightstick and oh my days that was worse than the stock barrel.
anyway, i emailed about the camo tip, to see if they have the 16" one :)

Dye barrels and proto barrels are practically interchangeable, you cant use the fronts on any other barrel back though without modification, the only barrel back that comes close (as far as i know) is the matchstik back, but even then the front will require the lip at the end of the threads filing off. :)

That is correct, all DYE UL and Proto 2piece barrels are totally interchangeable.
Just to clear it up:

DYE Ultralite backs in AC thread are available in .684, .688 (standard) and .692.
.695 backs are also available in black only.

Proto backs are slightly cheaper and available in .690 only.

We have not seen any Proto Camo tips here, but we have DYE UL tips in Camo (14" + 16") and they look trick.

In regards to a set of UL's, you would be more than fine with a .688 and a .692 back, with 1 front. Those 2 sizes would work great with 99.9% of paintballs out there.

I hope that helps. Please contact your favoured DYE dealer for pricing and availablility.

Thanks,

Tommy
