Went to Maplins to find an alternative power supply.
I eneded up buying a resistor to bring the 9V to 5V.
Soldered in-line on the live to/from the battery.
The pictures show the components;
Fan=17mm x 17mm A25GU@£4.99.
Battery box=L90AN@ £1.29.
Resistor=M51R@£0.15(worked out as a 50 ohm which they don't stock,51 is ok).
Of course you need solder,heat shrink,cable ties(2.5mm),drill bit 2.5mm.
I'll do step by step pictoral breakdown later in the week(after I've finished nights:(),it is very easy.

Fan,box and resistor.
Resistor.....:D
This is the way to go, now I have seen a picture of the size of the fan I now know this is the correct one, I will get my bits when I get paid end of month

Cheers mate!
I was just involved in searching for exactly the same stuff (After seeing a graphics card fan for sale as a mask fan on shebay)
Just used your order numbers and placed me an order! :D
