Apologies if there already is a definitive thread related to this, I had a quick look through the past pages and didn't see anything glaringly obvious.

Anyway I'm playing a 3-man tournament at YPC this Sunday (anyone else going?) and was just wondering what tactics other people use in 3-man tournies. We have had a bit of a dispute within the team of what tactics to go with as some say to play aggressive and others say play defensive and lock down the field.

Thoughts?

possibly have two people lock down the field and one player move up the field and make the kills?

What about specific player positions? We were thinking of one in the snake, one snake corner then a back middle and then try and push up the snake side as quickly as possible whilst the back middle locks down the opposite side.

instead of having a back centre, try having one in each corner to get the width of the field and one player in the snake?

Look at the field first - it may not lend itself to locking down from back centre, or pushing snake.

As a general rule though, play it as you would normally - if you like to get up in people's grills then do that. If you prefer to sit back, take a G then push, then do that.

There is no definitive answer as it depends on so many variables.
