Hi i am thinking of buying a 300bar 12ltr Dive Tank at this link http://www.lpspaintball.biz/acatalog/Systems.html but just wanted to know:

How many times would i be able to fill a 48 cu 3000psi air tank from a 300bar 12ltr Dive Tank? and what is the maximum pressure for the dive tank? also would you be able to fill it at most paintball sites that supply air? and does anyone know how many cubic inches the dive tank would be?

Thanks

try google - you can find all kind of converters. most people could probably give you an estimate, unless they are maths gods - but google should be accurate. failing that, ask a physics teacher :)

ok iv found out that the tank is 732 cubic inches and the pressure is 4500 psi
and i think you can fill a 3000psi air tank about 6 or 7 times from it but im not sure on that

As far as I know you shouldn't fill a 3000psi tank from a 4500psi (300 Bar)dive tank without a complicated pressure regulator, as the pressure difference of 1500psi would probably damage your tank.

Your best bet is to get either a 232 bar Dive tank or a 4500psi air system.

i take it your experience of compressed air is minimal, so i would advise you don't try to fill a 3000psi air system from a 4500psi dive tank. All it takes is a distraction and you've accidentally put 4500psi into the 3000psi bottle.

This has the potential to kill you.

Allthough initially you may be very carefull, a mistake could easily happen, and trust me compressed air is lethal.

If you do decide to get the 300bar 4500psi dive tank, make sure it only gets filled to 3000psi at the fill centre (dive shop), then you can't overfill your gun bottle.

Thanks alot for that link, i found out on google that 232 bar is 3365 psi would i be safe filling up a 3000 psi 48 cu tank with this or could it blow up still?
And would i have to buy a din fitting to charge my air tank from it with this one?

If you have a 3000psi (232) 12l bar dive tank and a 1.1l 3000psi gun bottle, the tank is about 10x the volume of the gun bottle.

So, if you fill the gun bottle and fully empty it each fill, you will reduce the pressure in the dive tank by 10% each fill

Fill 0 = 3000psi
Fill 1 = 2700psi
Fill 2 = 2430psi
Fill 3 = 2187psi
Fill 4 = 1968psi
Fill 5 = 1771psi
Fill 6 = 1594psi
etc

So, You'll get about 6 useful fills if you empty the gun tank each time, assuming zero waste and linear compression (both of which are false).

If you only half-empty the gun tank each time, you'll get maybe 11-12 fills before you're down to 1500psi.
