summary

just to make a summary - to have mostly all points together, so that next MS tournament organisers may take it as a checklist ..

nice things the DMA crew is responsible for:
- nice place the event took place in
- very nice field setups
- 100% fresh (4500psi) air
- they tried to built up chrono stations on the field, which didnt really work, but looked very nice
- they tried to built boxes for the markers, in which these nearly fitted

nice things the traders are responsible for:
- very cool draxxus tent
- big trade show

bad things nobody is responsible for:
- bad weather
- crahing computers

bad things I dont know who is responsible for:
- no rp sherer paint

bad things the DMA crew is responsible for:
- no external hdd backup
- no printed schedules before the crash
- no schedule (you wont call that one schedule?)
- up to 6 hours delay caused MOSTLY by the schedule and not the weather
- falling towers, in spite of knowing about the stormfront coming up
- players area without a roof
- players area was finally built up by the players not the organisers
- 20-30€ for not printed ID cards
- ID cards didnt get checked
- unsafe players area (stealing)
- big prices for small sandwhiches
- a sign saying youre not allowed to bring your own food/drinks

btw was there a captains meeting? If yes, at what time?

Hmmm .. that seems to be (nearly) all.
I really hope, that the next MS tournament takes care about the points above...

Lots of comments about "stop whinging, you got to play ball, didn't you?" & similar. Well try to remember that nearly all the various problems didn't just affect the players, they also affected everyone else attending.
Spectators/hangers on etc may have had the option to go off site & do some sightseeing or shopping or something, but we had to get on site well before the first game of each day & stay until they were all over 'cause of the tech support team. About half of the bad points listed above by Windler affected us as much as the teams - don't forget we were all in the Smart Parts tent when the tower damn near fell on us.

So think of us poor non-playing attendees - all that discomfort & risk & we don't even get to play:(

Hey Morphus,

I'm glad that you guys managed to find that seventh guy, hope you enjoyed the tourney, and from your post I gather you did.

Johan, thanks for supporting the DMA's, how you managed to find the time to take all those photos and play paintball is beyond me.

Ed, bek! :D (inside joke, don't try to understand..)
