what is the exact reason for the angel regs not being able to deal with a HP input? why dont they just sort it out and redesign the regs once and for all, or ship them with a decent aftermarket part such as a CP.

The output range of the minireg is relative to the input.
Its simply down to how the reg works.


I know, you are asking why exactly does it need to be like that. Err I dont know for certain but my guess is safety/insurance.

The reason the minireg is set for lp air systems rather than both is, it gives a much more accurate and sustainable output if it only needs to cover a smaller pressure range. All angel miniregs can be adjusted to work with hp bottles.
Think of it as a sweet spot on a golf club, the larger the club the bigger the sweet spot. With the minireg the smaller the input pressure difference the larger the sweet spot will be.
