According to the sgma superstudy (US only) there were 1.4 million people who played more than 15 days in 2001.

Out of those 1.4, 881,000 were 17 or younger. That's 62%.

And there's more...

18-24 age group consisted of 422,000 - a further 30%.


Therefore, 92% or regular players in the US are under the age of 24.

And, they are all tournament players! Yeah, right.
