Hi, can someone please advise briefly on the regulations for air bottles for use in the UK? DOT is US only right? TC Canada? What is required for UK?
For the UK we require either:
European Pi mark
Newish International UN ISO 11119

Next the cylinder needs to be in date.
That typically lasts 5 years after the manufacture date, and then requires an in date hydro test - also usually valid for 5 years.
The maximum lifetime for a Pi marked fibre cylinder Is usually 15 years.
A UN ISO can possibly last forever if it passes the periodic testing

For an aluminium cylinder it’s 10 years between tests and an unlimited lifetime
Note - they have been quoted as 5 years for consistency and to avoid confusion with genuine steel cylinders and the trend to call aluminium’s ‘steelies’
Simay not permit filling of an aluminium after 5 years, or if the cylinder has shorter date / period markings then they should be complied with

Aluminium cylinders are cheap enough to replace rather than be worthwhile testing
