So, I turned on the telly, and switched over to Channel 5, hoping for some soft porn (as you do...ahem), when I beheld a fearsome sight: Rob Lowe playing paintball!!! This purports to be a movie called "Hostile Intent"
Besides their poor judgement in casting, the makers of this appalingly piece of non-entertainment have done paintball no good. These morons were playing a woods game with no masks.
God, this kind of thing makes me so angry!
Several movies and TV shows ('Jackass', 'King of Queens' etc) have portrayed paintball in much the same way.
I nearly spewed when the contestants on 'The Mole' took off their masks during a game.
Some day, we will be treated to the lovely sight of some dumb@ss' eyeball dribbling down his cheek.
That'll do more damage to the sport than all the vandalism reported in the media.

ESSEX,
ROB LOWE GIVING PAINTBALL A BAD NAME

YES I'VE JUST WATCHED THAT MOVIE TOO

AND FOR THE CASTING (ROB LOWE) WELL NEED I SAY MORE

AND AS FOR THE MARKERS THEY WOULD HAVE DONE BETTER
USING SPLATMASTERS

THIS TYPE OF THING GIVES THE SPORT A VERY BAD NAME
WHEN THERE WAS NOT A MASK IN SITE

WELL MARKS OUT OF 10 FOR THE FILM

A SAD, SAD 2:mad:

I have seen the episode of "Jackass" in question! But they in no way associated paintball with some lame BS like Kings of Queens or that Rob Lowe movie. They we merely trying to achieve a certain look for the cover of Rolling Stone. I understand Johnny Knoxville isn't wearing a mask. But dood they were Aiming for his B@ll$ and Chest! No need for a mask there!

Oh if you are talking about another episode then well I rambled on about nothing!:p

Maybe you should try that in your next tournemant.
"uh, guys, if everyone just aims for my chest, then hey, I don't have to wear this silly mask."
It's the principle of the thing. We should always promote safety above anything else

Hellllllooooooooo???

Time for my rant then:mad:
Are you forgeting what you see when Jackass starts??

There is a big disclaimer stating that you shouldn't try this at home!
look at the rest of the show and you realise that only a muppet would copy what is done on this show.
Darkwerks when was the last time you done any of the following?
swam in a sewer outflow, stood in front of a mulcher when some one throws all kinds of sh!t into it, eaten the ingredents of an omelette raw then thrown it up into a frying pan cooked it and eaten it a second time, pierced your arse cheeks together. getting the clue here your RANT was about how the media portrays paintball. If you are worried that someone in a film can play paintball without a mask on (after all its only rob lowe and whos going to see a really obscure film on a channel that most of the uk ignores anyhow) and you feel that this has urged you and other people to do the same, I must also warn you that;
Street racing is not cool (you will crash and burn in the end)
Getting shot or stabbed does hurt,
Hot-wiring a motor is not as easy as it looks on film.
Bombs do not get defused with one second remaining.
If a global killer asteroid was heading for earth there is nothing we could do to stop it.
No human has stepped foot on the moon.
Guns are not cool.

Jeez sometimes people really worry me:(

I'm sorry, could you be a little more condescending?
Of course I know that watching Rob Lowe playing paintball without a mask isn't a licensce for me to do the same.
Of course I know that anything I see on "Jackass" isn't something normal person would attempt.
My 'rant' is about what should be important to all of us: protecting the sport we all play and love. I would like the media to portry paintball in a safe and responsible manner. If someone were injured on a prime time TV programme ( or a not-so-prime-time) it would be an excellent reason for the anti-paintball lobby to get it banned.
Think it won't happen? In Australia, you can only play on licensed fieds. You can't own a marker, they can only be owned by fields. Some markers have been destroyed by over-zealolous police.

Jeez, am I still worrying you?

now look to reason first
why do you think the russians never attempted the trip to the moon? because man cannot get there. the reason why is out side of the earths orbit you are affected by a bombardment of solar radiation. there is a belt which i think is called the van halen belt or something similar which protects objects close to the earth. scientists have stated once you leave this protective belt you would need a protective lead layer over a foot deep otherwise you would encounter the same effects of being sat in a large microwave. the reason that the yanks started the hoax of landing on the moon was because of the cold war which was at its height in the sixties and seventies. having been beaten by the ruskies to first man in space and no it wasn't yuri gagarin he is beleived to be the 3rd man in space. see here for more info on the fist and second man in space the yanks needed a moral booster to improve home views of the government.
why do you think that nasa has never quashed this conspiracy theory by pointing that multi-billion dollar hubble tellescope at the moon and prove that the landers are still there?
because it never happened!!!
this will be clarified next year when the japs are sending two probes to the moon to photograph the entire surface in detail
