Hey all I'm new to the site and am getting into speedball.
I am looking at buying a cheap DM5 for 215 euro.
I was wondering is it still a good high end marker or has its shelf life expired?
I have looked up reviews and hear good things but there from years ago,
Is the marker still able to compete with newer high end markers or is it to old?
Should I buy the DM5
or go with another marker?
Thanks.

Mooching round the 50, with the flag
I've still got and use my old DM4, dropped a lucky chip in there and it mixes with the best of them and can be set so that it's 12bps legal, bit bigger and heavier than today's top end stuff but perfectly useable.

dm8 is only smaller and lighter than the dm5, and some minor changes like eye plates removed

There are deffinately some huge improvements with the newer DM's over the DM5, however good of a gun that it still is.
M600- The 'minor change' that you mention of not needing eye plates is an industry first, along with the Ultralite frames, self cleaning enclosed eye pipe/detent carrier and reach trigger as found on the DM9.
The DM5 will still shoot incredible well like it did in 2005, helping Trauma win the NXL championship back then.
As every year passes, new designs, features and upgrades that have come with the newer DM's have helped to increase performance at all levels.
Hope that explains things a little further.

Best regards,

Tommy
