A 1.1 4.5kpsi bottle bought in america is surely EXACTLY the same one as bought in the UK except the test label?!?

You cant tell me that before selling dual test bottles that Smartparts, Air America, or PMI made two differant types of bottles, just cos of UK testing regualtions.

THEREFORE (getting to my point) It must be possible to retest DOT bottles somewhere to HSE standard.
Is that not why HSE bottles cos an extra £30 more than a DOT test one? because of the extra test!

Even if they were regarded as untested.

And if the argument is that there is insufficient labeling decribing the intended use of the bottle, then how can new bottles be tested before sale.
This is a big problem in paintball, and there must be someone who can do something about it legally.

anyone??

Billy

(go on own up, have i lost anyone yet?)

First point ..no they aren't any different just the labels, but then you would make all your bottles to the higher spec to avoid resetting your machines so if an HSE bottle needs 30 more wraps of fibre, long term it saves you downtime to make them all at the same spec material wise

Second point..see above

Third point..Um yes they did except PMI who have never made a HSE bottle

Fourth point..No you can't and the extra cost is 'cos the HSE test certificate issuing involves testing more bottles to destruction plus a few more higher pressure rated tests (all costs and we as the end user have to pay for it)

The finalise the rest of your post, the bottles now made with Dual testing "certificates" are batched produced to the same spec as they supplied to the different test authoritys so yes they can sell it "untested" as you put it....cars are sold in that very same way.

Also there have always been these posts coming up when this subject rears its head again about people who have gotten tests done on DOT bottles, well as the very first post in this thread says it can't be done as they are breaking the law. That isn't to say that some people haven't done these tests before but now "its out" that you can't do this legally hopefully this thread can die (very much doubt it won't reappear). Gonna be interesting at the next tourny when all the bottles get checked for both date and test type ;)

Dot bottles for over seas players visiting the uk

Airforce:
will you be filling DOT cylinders belonging to players from the US (or canada) at the events you provide air for?
secondly, how long is the test period on an HSE bottle?

Thanks
