the other problem may be that the board sets its own sensitivity if i am correct, so if you turn it on standing next too someone dryfiring then it will take a lot for it too pick up the noise of your gat, if you turn it on when it is quiet it should pick up the sound of your marker a lot better.
But hopefully the pinched wire being free'd has fixxed it for u.
