I am almost sure that applies up in Cobham too.
I work on a site in cobham m8 if a player wants to bring his own gun down theres not a problem . And back in the day played in the woods at sites all over the south with my own marker no questions asked . What your saying is that a high end markers not allowed . Theres no diffrence in a high end marker and an ion in those circumstances in a new players hands against other new players . Every site is diffrent so u saying ALL sites wont let u is BS n e way im not guna waist my time in this thread anymore .

2 cents?? that was the euromillions jackpot!!! appreciated all the same.

Q stands? would an ion or a spyder need an electro hopper?

Well, exchange rates being volatile and all...

Either gun would benefit from a good hopper like a Halo or Reloader B. My "smart money" section should have included mention of a good hopper as a good purchase, since it will be helpful to reliable feeding in any marker, and it is useful with any marker except for stock-class dinosaurs. I am not ripping on dinosaurs, incidentally.

In summary:

Spend your money on paint. Then spend what is left on a mask. Then spend what is left on a Halo. Then if you have a few more shiney coins, buy a 68 ci 4.5k tank, assuming you can get it filled. Shop for the cheapest gun that will get the job done, with a preference for cocker threaded barrel compatibility. Then buy more paint.

Another possible sticky? Could save time in the future?

kk, I don't have an Ion, but all the guys (basically) that I train with do.
Are you in a paintball club, or play at a site that lets own gunners play regularly? If you answer yes to either of these, they should have HPA. worth a call to check, but basically everywhere thats serious about paintballing probably will have. If you're not in a club, find one and Join! you will find it's far cheaper on paint once you have your own marker and play with a club as they don't have to pay for the day to day maintanance on your marker etc, which sites basically include in the paint price (thats why rental balling cost so much).
Ok, thats out the way.... Find a place that specialises to get your Ion, For example, Jim Frensham at Warped in Wolverhampton. His team Wolf City pretty much all play with Ions and he techs Ions at national events. If ANYONE makes a part for an Ion, he can get it for you. and probably has it in stock anyway. check the warped paintball website and drop him an email. The guy was the first to email me back when I started, and he's played with the best in the world at the highest level. plus, he'll only suggest what you really want, not just sell you stuff cos he can.
His Ion is truely unbelieveably fast, trust me, I've been on the recieving end!
You can't go wrong with an Ion... they're the way forwards!

with reference to sites not letting you use high end markers. i also have found that to be very true. im on my uni team so do tourney using an electro marker, but every month or so we get together and go for a recball session with the general public jus for a luagh too. and they do not let us use electro markers on rec ball days. so when i first started before i made the team i bought a recball marker. an inferno. im surprised noone has suggested one yet. my inferno is brilliant, has a double trigger so even tho it is mech you can still get a fair amount of paint down it. and it is allowed on any site as it is soooo similar to what sites use thereself. however rented markers from sites are not as accurate as your own marker. this is because they are not as well looked after and they are totally stock. with your own you can buy new barrels, or like mine buy a double trigger etc making them slightly better but still fairly cheap. i got mine for 50 quid and its brilliant for rec days. after that i bought a mech 04 prostock autococker. this again is a brilliant gun for recdays though i dont know if all sites will let you on with it as its different to site markers. if anyone is interested the autococker is for sale. but to be honest mate id recomend a nice inferno.

hope this helped a little

y r u suggesting a tourney marker for someone who is a rec-baller. there is no need for him to spend so much on a marker when he wont need that sort of performance. also angels are hard to maintain. for someone with little or no experience its a no no. an inferno is nice and simple and always allowed. if not then a mech autococker like i have is the next best thing. easy to maintain, easy to use, fast, reliable. what more does he need?

Angels hard to maintain? you're joking aren't you? You hardly need to do anything to an Angel to keep it running, put some gun oil through the asa every 4 cases of paint and the occasional greasing of visible moving parts and that's it. There's a lot less to fiddle with on an Angel than there is on a mech cocker mate.

And to be honest, you can pick up an LCD or IR3 for around £100 now, I started with an Angel IR3 and found it brilliant for playing on a woodland site.
