how to get the design off the shell?

Hey guys I have a halo and the shell was like a blue/white camo design. But after using it for about 6 months some of the design started to come off, making it look really bad.
So I decided to try and take all of the design off so it would just be plain white but after an hour of scraping it off I've come to a point where no more will actually come off but theres still alot of pattern in places causing it to look even worse anyone got any ideas on how i can take all of the design off easily? thanks

shells

soak in hot soapie water for a hour and then try, if you use any solvents try on a little bit first in case it melts it. battery door you can always replace that. white spirit is not a bad start.

brake fluid works well on painted plastic items
