I dont get it, tell me if this is right.

There will be the PSP events. At these events there will be the 10(or 8) Pro Xball teams in their own competition. Then all the others will be playing 10 and 5 man as usual(with top Ams maybe playing Xball)

Their will also be an NPPL series that is 7 man and will incorporate the Millenium Series. Am I correct!?!

Oh my...........no you don't have to realise that at all, you just have to read the post correctly and not put words into people's mouths

And as for my thoughts regarding the new 7 man league ?
Well, it is probably the best thing that has happened to US Paintball because now you guys can play a Euro type tournament and not just read about it.
It will also provide your circuit with a much needed element of competition because without a serious contender, we have already seen the PSP's inability to respond to the new demands and the consequent standard of their tournaments.

The US need this competition, without it, the top tournament circuit is held hostage to an organisation that just can't do the job, and they have proved this time and time and time again.
They have no determination to secure proper venues, they do no outside marketing whatsoever, they do not cater for the needs of not only players but also spectators and so on....

The guys on the PSP have to realise, they are businessmen, they are team owners, this does not mean they are natural promoters.
This job is a specialised one and needs, flair, imagination, dedication and a lot of time spent on it.
Now I know some of them may well scream blue murder at me amd cite many improvements they have undoubtedly made.
And let's face it, they have, the new air system, the new adherence to safety netting etc but come on, how can u forget toilets, bleachers, layouts, marketing, facilities for families and so on ?
If you can't supply all of them, then find someone who can, after all, they have the template from Europe, they just chose not to copy it...I'll let you guys and gals work out why

Good question because at the moment, this is wholly dependant upon whether or not the powers that be in the US (PSP) decide to write in an exclusion clause to X-Ball promotion.

That is, if a promoter runs an X-Ball tournament alongside their existing Millennium tournament, then they would be unable to have anything to do with the World 7-Man.
We have not yet seen the conditions that govern the X-ball circuit's allocations but put it this way, I wouldn't be surprised !!

But I think at the end of the day, you'll have a unified non-x-ball league and an X Ball league that follows it around for a year or three and then strikes out on its own, complete with affiliated "minor league" teams in the form of the Am X Ballers. The promoters will move on to being pro team owners, and the rest of us non-pros can go back to a player financed, player run league.

I think that really does make the best long term sense for everyone. What you're seeing now is all the muscle flexing necessary to iron out the details. Maybe some people needed ot be convinced that 7-man was a real possibility that can't be stopped, and maybe some people needed to be convinced that X Ball is going to happen.

I know a lot of 'ballers attribute a lot of hate to the various parties (Chuck, Jerry, et. al.) but honestly, it's not there. The hate makes for good web board drama, but that's about it. If you ever talk to these guys in person, they bend over backwards to make sure you understand it isn't personal. (Well, unless Davidson is involved. Actually, maybe that's just me. ) These are all smart people who all respect each other, even if they frequently disagree on what should be done or who should be responsible. They'll work it out, because they all have an interest in doing so.

Chris, much as I'm loathe to cross swords again with you because it begins to look personal but I have to disagree with you once again, on the above point you made.
What these guys may well say to you is not what's going on !!!!
There is a deep, divisive animosity brewing at many levels over there.
And as for them all seeing a common end and working it all out, who are you trying to kid ?
Respect between some parties went a long time ago !!!
Nah, Chris, I talk to these people all the time, and I pretty much know what's going on and it ain't no sunny walk in the park, not by a long chalk !!!
If I told you about some of the things that have just gone on recently, you certainly would not be posting something like you just did.
Self-protectoin, self-interest, money and power, it don't take rocket science to work out that these very ingredients lie at the very heart of almost all political animosity.

Seriously though, I don't take stuff personally. It's not worth the effort. Especially not stuff on the web board. The way I figure it, there are people who agree with me, and then there are idiots. The choice is yours.

Chris, yeah you're right, there's me in my humble abode in London, England, not having that much experince with the average US site, then there's you, tucked away in a college dorm and then there's both of us trying to impose each of our opinions on the other !
But, along comes Waddizz, who was working at the front end of your average site, and working there for I believe four years, so his opinion must be worth more than mine and yours combined.
Well you'd think it would now wouldn't ya ?
Now refresh my memory Chris, just who did he agree with ?
And now who's not listening ?
Anyway, all the time you wanna keep throwing in that little grenade on your parting post, then all the time I am gonna keep coming back at ya.
But then again, this all comes down to what we interpret as average and therein lies the difference and one that cannot be easily reconciled with the data at hand.
So, my parting shot is this, no grenades (apart from my little Waddiz point), certainly no ill feeling, a respect for your opinions and the way you articulate them and that is my last word on this subject......unless of course you decide to pull the pin again
