so every one who bought the Xfactor track was following a tv programme

No, we read about it on the internet and decided (all on our own) that it was a good thing. it's just funny.

It gave us some cheap lols at cowells expense. (and I know he probably sold more copies because of the RATM campaign than he would have otherwise).

It is juvenile and ultimately completely meaningless but so what. That doesn't make us sheep. And even if it does I don't care, it gave me a laugh.:p

No, both labels are subsidaries of Sony. No other link than that. 95% of record labels are part of the big 3 (Sony, Universal, BMG (I think)). So, no, cowell don't get nish.
