Hi i am new to paintballing. I have played it a few time with different groups and styles and i am looking to get more involved and join a local team in the Edinburgh area. Thanks for all the comments and personal perspective on purchasing kit it has help me choose between new or second hand . I will be going down the second hand route as you can get a decent set up for good money and still have cash to play.

Hey thanks for writing this guide it's been a ton of help. I'm actually considering buying the Azodin Blitz 3 after reading a review at http://www.pbreview.org/ because they state it can use both CO2 and HPA. And since I really don't have a lot of money at the moment I would like to stick to using CO2 for the time being if I can.
If anyone has used this gun in the past I would love to hear what you have to say about it.

Are you based in the U.K. or elsewhere?

If in the U.K. then I'd recommend not buying a co2 cylinder. If you are going to sites that run on co2 then just use a site cylinder (they might actually require you to use their cylinders anyway)

But co2 sites in the U.K. are typically rental only sites. You would be able to find cheaper paintball at a site that runs walkons once a month. Such sites use compressed air

Check out the What paintball costs thread for a guide to the rough costs of paintball

A basic 3000psi aluminium air cylinder costs approx £30 to £40
