Planet Piper away from you freaks!
HELP THE MILLENIUM OUT?

There are 16 teams in CPL 32 in Div1 and SPL. Thats 80 teams who on average probably play about 7000 euros per year for entrance fee.

7000x80=560,000 off entrance fees alone.

Then add the fact that there are an average of 10 player on roster and 3 pit crew, each paying 40 euro for a players pass.

That works out to 41,600 euros.

And then there's the 4 Diamond sponsors listed on the back of the players pass. Each one of them gives approx 150,000 euros to the Millenium

4x150,000=600,000.

So now we have roughly 1,151,600 euros that they are bringing in this year just from the top 3 Divs(the ones they cancelled). Do you really think the setups we've seen in the past would come anywhere NEAR to these figures? There's a fairly huge difference between the income and outcome in my opinion. Now the millenium has put the event on the beach to make MONEY. Everyone who has any experience with beaches knows that there is a good chance that wind will come through and when it does the beach is always VERY affected. Its not like the millenium didnt realize the wind could come. I mean last year the wind came by on sunday and ruined our semi-final game, the taller barricades were blowing at 45 degree angles and they had to stop the game to fix the M twice. That completely killed the competition and I know for the players waiting to contiune play, it killed the fluid idea of the match. So why risk it a second time? Why not just play in a valley? If you asked all the CPL SPL and Div1 players what they really wanted for their money don't you think most of them would want good fields, good marshalls, good turf in a flat location with minimal wind factor? This weekend was the Millenium's fault. As a minimum they should cover the expenses for the teams who had to pay flights hotels and food to be at the event. A return on the entrance fee would be fair, because I blatantly know they have breached the contract that they like to wave around in the air whenever a team doesnt show up. Sadly us paintball players are stupid will never form a union so that when **** like this happens we get compensated. Oh well.
There are 71 locked teams not 80

The Diamond sponsors pay 50,000 euro's each

There is price money which the fairies bring on the back of a unicorn

There is getting all the equipment there with dwarfs carry on there own!

The set up crew are all millionaires and work for free!

The ref's pay for there own hotels food flights and work for free, just for the love of reffing, infact one of them loves it so much he pays for the prize money all himself. He is there special ref!

Please note that the above is SARCASUM and not fact, a bit like all my other posts...........

Markie C............ You should know me better than to think I was giving Luke a hard time on purpose, I was as Mario pointed out being Sarcastic

Also I would go back and check your figures and workings out as there are some errors.

Now to be serious for a second.......... Yes it is annoying for the players, yes you did all spend a lot of money training and traveling and staying at the event. I get all of that.

Also the Millennium had to spend a lot of money to put the event on in the first place.

So both parties have spent money to go to an event that was destroyed by the wind. Did anyone know it was going to be that windy? I for one did not I looked at the weather report and it never said the wind would be that bad. So it really was beyond anyone's control.

Jimmy you are correct when you say that there where cracks in last years event, but when the sun shine everyone looks past that, yes with the bad weather the cracks showed up. But as yet have the Millennium ever got an event 100% right? If we look deep enough you will find fault with anything.

Look at the F1 this year that was stopped because of the rain. I doubt any of the spectators teams staff etc would have been compensated for an act of god, or bad weather whatever you want to call it. What about Wimbledon when a match is called off due to rain? Do the spectators get to go back the next day to watch, not that I have ever heard of they don't.

So my point is that it is annoying for EVERYONE concerned and there really is no way to keep everyone happy when there are so many factors involved.

Personally I see the solution as they just play the same field from Malaga then you guys don't have to train on a different field...... Simple solution......... Will they do it? That is something they will have to decide :D

Location, Location.
My point still stands. I didnt miss anything.

No wonder the Millenium can abuse us. People are too busy being sarcastic then trying to make points.
No you did. As if Piper actually thinks you should help the millenium out.

Can i ask, what are you doing to change the millenniums? What is any paintballer who plays the mills doing? Answer...Nothing. Instead of walking away from them in disgust, you still look to them to provide this amazing tournament which is always promised but just never seems to appear.

When someone does try to make a change for the better starting up a players union for example, none of you can be bothered to properly support it. Honestly, you have no one but yourselves to blame.

What are you talking about "both parties spent out money" the
only money the Millennium spent was the players money, it doesn't come out of their pockets and they still make their profit regardless the only losers with the players.

I agree with pretty much what markie has said. Registration in particular annoyed me, it was a joke, didnt open it until 3 and when it did they had ONE, ONE machine to cater for the hundreds of players with some girl who could barely type. We lined up for what must of been around 2 hours + and on top of that, all our ID cards all ended up with the exact same player ID number. So we are essentially...all the same player on our team.

Good point Dave, but this will only work if everyone has paid, what if there are teams or sponsors that have yet to pay money? The money has to come from somewhere.......... So let's asume for this argument that EVERYONE has paid..... You are correct they did spend the teams money.......... However I would be surprised if they did get all the money in seeing as we are in economic crisis.

Dave's at work, (Dave doesn't do good points, he does Dave's point) and even if they haven't got EVERYONES money it is still not coming out of their pockets ( as you make it sound) they are still making a profit, they have not lost anything, you are making it sound like poor Millennium.

Yes Andy i know you and yeah cool i know were you are coming from.

But try and see were we are coming from mate, i think every one is sick to death of the flippant attitude from the MS and people maybe with out them knowing are trying to be funny about it, but with all fairness its a not a funny matter,

Luke was just stating a few points and he gets a reply like that i jumped the gun a bit but look of how many people think i am right,

I am not trying to start a witch hunt because people have tried to do it to me in the past and i know how it feels, and we love playing the event even though for 4 of them its there first big event and we have paid our entrance for a whole year and expect a better service.

Just think of it from our point of view.

50.000 euros me and you both know its more than that mate, dont forget all the money they get from the fields and other such thing's

Bu ti dont think it should be about the money and how much they make but toxic made a great post, its about being treated like we are second class and we dont deserve a voice or a opinion.

The only person from the MS board i thought handled it very well was Ulric.

he spent his time on the Saturday night to go to all the hotels to make sure teams knew it was off the following day while the rest of them got pissed at the players party.

Andy you have made some comments about what toxic said but how about your thoughts of what i said ie the way we are being told to go out and get smashed at the players party or the amount of REALLY dodgy bars,

Not all are their for a holiday we are there to play paintball.

and what about the crap porn ?

Then you are reading too much into my post, it is not meant that way. I am saying that it sucks all round, you see it from a players point of veiw, I however don't play so see it without the passion that you have.

The figures are off but the facts remain; The Millenium rinses us dry then spends the minimum amount of effort to pay us back for our support. The Millenium is in the power position in Europe because realistically there are NO other serious European leagues. Now think about the league from a business perspective. They have probably the fewest employees for the amount of money that comes in, which maximizes revenue. What do the ref's get paid anyway? Considering they hold the biggest responsibility about the success of the event of any MS employee, probably not enough.
