NSPL Support for Paintball Clubs

As paintball matures as a sport, the requirement for proper Paintball Clubs is becoming ever more apparent. Teams need help and Paintball Clubs can provide a lifeline that can mean the difference between early retirement and success. As one of few major UK leagues, the NSPL has a responsibility towards the tournament community to support the development of properly formed, mutli-team, brand-independant, clubs and is happy to announce a support package for any such club within the Southern counties of the UK.

One of the primary roles of any club should be to support the teams within its membership, putting facilities in place to tackle any problems its teams may encounter and minimise the affect of issues such as a sudden loss of players, or the retirement of a team captain.

You can read more about the possible benefits of being part of a wider club here: http://www.nspl.co.uk/clubs.php

The leagues first promise of support is a commitment to pay in to a Guest Player Scheme run by the club. For each team that is a member of the club, the NSPL will pay the club cash for each event that team enters. That cash must be put in to a fund which will pay the entry fee for a guest player in to an NSPL event should a club team struggle to enter that event due to last minute player problems. The club will be required to administer the Guest Player Scheme and prevent abuse of it.

Such Guest Player Schemes will be open to players who are also a member of the same club and will include players who are currently without a team, players who's team does not play the NSPL on a regular basis, and players on participating NSPL teams that are not rostered for a particular event. Guest players will have their share of the team's entry fee paid for by the Club fund, providing an incentive for players to sign up to the Scheme. Paint bills must be split equally between all players on the team and the Guest Player will be responsible for paying his/her share of that paint bill.

The NSPL's second promise of support is one of advice and help for new Clubs. Lessons learnt from a pilot scheme run over the last two years have provided indepth knowledge of what is involved in setting up a proper, community-led, paintball sports club. The league is happy to help individuals, industry members and teams who are looking to get a club started in their local area, providing advice, best-practice, and continued support as wanted.

The league requires no affiliation from a club it supports and firmly believes that they must be independant, run by the players for the players. Support is offered to help clubs in their role of ensuring team continuity.
