  • We are increasing the amount of preliminary matches for Divisional Xball from 3 to 4.
  • Only the Professional division will be a locked division.
  • Professional Xball division will be unlimited paint.
  • Semi-Pro and Divisional Xball will be 4 pods and a hopper.
  • Referees will signal penalties with yellow and red flags.
  • Players will not be penalized for picking up paint off the ground.

In both the US and in Europe, what used to be called the Semi-Pro class will now become Pro Silver, and what used to be called the D1 class will now become Semi-Pro class.

Traditional 5-man teams are allowed up to one player from one class above the team's division. Xball teams are allowed up to 2 players from one class up. Exception: Any number of Pro Silver players may play Semi-Pro. Complete details on player classifications will be listed in the 2018 NXL Europe Rule Book which will be published atwww.nxlpaintball.com Monday, February 12th.

Players will not be assigned points for previous Millennium events prior to 2018, except players who appeared on 2017 Pro Millennium rosters.

If players do not currently have an APPA ranking they will be unranked.

Pro Silver is anyone who played Pro in the Millennium last year and has not played 2 or more US Pro events in the previous 2 seasons.

Rules between US and EU differences
U.S. layouts will be released 2 weeks before the events
EU layouts will be released 4 weeks before the events

U.S. - All divisions are unlimited paint format
EU - Professional division will be unlimited paint and all other Xball divisions will be 4-pods and a hopper.

U.S. - No hand on the head enforcement
EU - Hands on the head after elimination will be enforced

Sister teams get a 10% discount on entry fees. (kinda cool!)

True but at that age, probably not a lot of pro experience anyway. I know TonTons reloaded their roster with a ton of young guys this year. I think they had 3 or 4 guys retire?
Yeah 2 retirements and no idea if Archie will come back this year yet...

Those guys are all French divisional players that tried out and earnt spots. Fair play to them for stepping up..

  • Points will not restart if player who hits the buzzer is shot. Penalties will be assessed, and if after the penalties are assessed the team still has any active players the team will still receive the point. If opposing team has any number of active bodies they will automatically be awarded the point, regardless of how many active players the team that hit the buzzer has.
That's a pretty interesting rules change, especially a dirty hang against a team with surviving players. Cuts a bit of faffing out of game time and means hitting the buzzer will always be the end of the game.

I’m confused, and think the paragraph is written in reverse:

On a dirty hang then if the opposing team have any live players then the opposing team takes the point
The buzzing team only take the point if they have any players remaining after penalties AND the opposing team have no live players

????

I agree with the first sentence, the 2nd...With 0 opposing players, I think it's a no point if there is enough players to pull, and starting down bodies if there aren't, no swing point unless it's under 60 seconds.
