What you said at the beginning of this thread is exactly what i use! Football boots are light, a snug fit and give you good grip unless you're running over wood.... then it becomes a whole new challenge haha
I just use a pair of combat boots support the ankle nicely
I've had yds and now I have Yates which I use for hunting on foot. Sometimes out for 12-14 hours on very hilly ground and never had a problem been over on my ankle thousands of times and just carried on walking, plus there comfy as hell

I use boots because my ankles are too flappy by themselves.. I also favour the woods and jumping in/out of ditches etc so it's a no brainer
I use my high top walking boots.
Nice ankle support with good grip!
I'm used to uneven ground when playing in woods so it helps a lot with that.
i only use variations of football boots too.
