Is there a clear way to distinguish between the two?

Not without taking it apart.

V2 Should have the updated belt and alu feedneck.

Without taking it apart it depends on the feedneck insert.

V1.0 - Black plastic feedneck insert.

V2.0 - Aluminium feedneck insert.
Internally a tighter drive-belt (a large size o-ring)

Its a smaller 0 ring on the V2

V1 came with #30 size, as the hopper was used more the belt/0 ring stretched which would stop the loader feeding consistantly, V2's now come fitted with #29 0 rings which eliminate the previous problems.

Ok, I bought it and it's a V1. I've checked the Kee catalogue and can't find the aluminium feed neck and o-ring as a spare/upgrade. Does anyone know where to get them.

my advice is to keep it as is untill you need the upgrades.

Ebay sell the 0ring/belt in packs of 10's for a few quid.
