I know that that's what Plant recommend, and the vaseline is all good fun and all, but I thought the problem with 3-in-1 for PB was that because it's vegetable-derived, it left (and you'll forgive me) sticky deposits in important places.

Go on then, Skeet - knock yourself out ;)

3in1 is very light and apparently doesnt leave much or any residue, and if planet says thats what you should use then that's what i will supply.
It makes sense to me that a light oil should be best for a high speed pneumatic rammer, dow33 seems too thick to me, maybe planet fealt the pros outweighed the cons? you are afterall supposed to clean and lube the rammer and rammer housing after every days play.

I think im gonna do two types of kit, one that consists of the keys and lubes and a little section for your orings and detents ect in a solid little PCV box for roughly £23 and then i might do one with a belt wrench and adjustable spanner for about £35.
They'l be Unbrako, bauman or beargrip ball ended keys depending what people feel about that price.
