Remove piston from fill nipple?

I've got a Dye Throttle that started leaking from the fill nipple. I took it off and could see a few bits of dirt stuck in there but the manual says you should be able to remove a piston from inside the nipple that has an o-ring on it which is what I assume is causing the leak. But for the life of me I can't get it out.

Anyone got any tips other than "Bang it on something" lol?

just carefully poke it out with a small drill bit or small nail.
Or just throw it away and get a new one, from LIPS,JP.
Don't use any oil or grease on it.
Seal it again with loctite or a bit of PTFE tape making sure you don't get any past the end of the threads,so it can't get blown into bottle.

Can't poke it out because Dye ones have a filter on them.

Think I'll just take the nipple off of one of my spare aluminium tanks tbh. Can't really see a way of getting at it without prying the filter off.

Yea I've already got the Nipple off the reg. Just can't get the piston out of it.

And the nipples on my Aluminium tanks have different threads for some reason which is annoying. Thought they were universal.

I had the same problem I just connected the nipple to my dive tank and had the other end in a pillow to catch it when it shoots out worked a treat
