Random question for a bored Sunday in lockdown...

do most sites now only fill to 3000psi?

If so, what’s the reason?

Less to worry about if Timmy new player only has a steel 3000psi bottle.

But also, if you drain the system at 4500 it takes longer fill the tanks back up.

Mostly down to economy, if you're providing 4500psi fills your compressor is going to be running most of the day to keep the pressure up in the air bank, if you only do 3000 fills you may be only need to run the compressor a couple of times. That and you don't need a marshal manning the fill stations constantly checking that people are using the correct ones.

Technically any UNISO certified bottle has an unlimited lifespan but manufacturers are putting death dates on them so they can keep selling new bottles, well that's my theory anyway.
