'05 Protos can be had fairly cheaply at present, a bit taller than some but very compact.

yeh i agree with skeet :D.
i have an ion, promaster and an ego and i think the promaster would prolly suit best for a small player new to tourney.
promaster is very compact, fits within the dimentions of a halo pretty much, is a little lighter than an ion, its short, is very fast and reliable and also wont cost you the earth. absolutely fantastic gats.

All without barrel, but inc battery, bottom line and feedneck according to my digital scales...

Ego (Hybrid bottom line, SP quarter turn on/off) = 937g
Shocker (S rail, SP quarter turn on/off) = 1026g

Shocker is approx 1.25cm lower with bodies compared, though stock ego feedneck adds another 1.25cm

Will measure an Ion when I can get my hands on a stock one - my one may not be a fair comparison ;)
