Nope definetly Angels. And besdies the Timmies are mostly Milling designs by various custom houses.

How Long did the Euro Speed last before the 05 came out? Just curious, as like it's 2004 we have an 05 Speed, and people are talking about upgrading the 05 already.

Also if they change the design think of the cost implication... all their machinery is setup with a basic 3 tube design and then change the milling...

Completely new design, new machines/programs=increased costs. Which we will have to pay for.... And just when WDP's machine guns were getting more and more affordable...

My 2p's worth

Or the Speed '05 is just a cynical attempt to clear their inventory of A4 gen bodies as they are planning a change anyway.

And re-tooling costs etc aren't prohibitive if it means offering something genuinely new and rekindling some spark that's been taken away from you.

Remember AGD, they didn't bring out anything new as they thought their old gun was still selling well enough and then they missed the boat and got squarely knocked in the jaw for not bringing out new products.

Nope, i would bet that within 6 months (probably launched at HB) we'll see a genuinely new gun out of WDP and not another revision.

It still is. I don't see the big wow. I've shot one, and to my mind was no different to a Fly or a Euro Speed. Seems to be forum users hyping up products again.

I think WDP concentrate far too much on producing a gun that is jack of all trades and master of none, furthermore this is echoed in the milling / body design which is putting it politely, conventional. Toss in a subjective user interface, and these guns either appeal to existing Angel Owners comfortable with the set-up, or those looking for a middle of the road gun. This safely safely approach, is less likely to appeal to both the more emotive and aspirational in their tastes.

The lower price point maybe a plus, but with new editions coming out frequently these have a downward effect on 2nd hand prices. It is then bought by newish players on the basis of Internet & player hype and gains a bit of a numpty image (through wild claims of ROF and accuracy built upon by inexperience). The numpty image is probably something WDP can do little about. However allowing the resale value of the guns to crash is very bad business sense, and to an extent rinsing out the customer base. Yet again Paintball companies should be looking beyond each other for business idea's and emulating some of the ideas used in the automotive industry.

The Speed 05 in this case represents a pleasing, if not an exceptional product. Personally I'll reserve WOW for the shooting experience of Dm4s or Alias Platform Intimidators. For all their faults (and there are many), when working they reward the user with a much greater shooting experience, be it ROF, accuracy, whatever the users preference.

At last some constructive criticism.

To me and many others, the "wow" factor is definitely there.

This version of the fly engine, has hit the nail straight on the head.

I don't believe that WDP produce a "jack of all trades" marker, i would say it's more like they have designed into their markers, an inbuilt strength, and subtleness that shows itself off in other ways. This reminds me of a BMW 3 series over a Ford Escort. Both are made to a price, but the beamer has this feel, that you will only know by owning it.
The Angel range, has always had this edge over its rivals, and with constant innovation and technical advances, it will lead the marker race for some time to come.
This Speed as with all Speeds, are made with cost in mind. So you won’t see “state of the art” milling, or fancy displays. But you do get the quality, which comes as standard with all of the Angel range.
Quite a few markers have hit the spot for many different reasons, I remember picking up a second hand pvi shocker, and thinking “wow” this makes my Automag feel like a dinosaur.
At this time, the difference between new models is far less, a faster solenoid, a shorter ram, but in this case the Speed 05 has that step up i felt with that early shocker. The Speed and other Angels have a solid feel, that timmies and other top end markers just fail to reach.

But each to their own, if we all felt the same then the world would be a boring place, eh.?
