On a side note, look in your manual.

Use the instructions to turn ROF (Rate of fire) up as much as it will go.

Change the firing mode to rebound.

Fire the gun, eyes off, no paint inside, thats what 17bps sounds like. Then just change it back to Semi. The gun is now set to 17bps semi. Adjust trigger pull to suit. Beware of bounce though, as then it wont be tourney legal when it goes full auto on its own.

Practice.

I have a blackheart in mine, it actually is faster then the stock board (and you follow the same instructions as above, but to 21bps). Its well quick. I dont run a QEV though, never seen the point.

Maybe that helps, maybe that doesnt, but i like it as simple as possible, it works and you get to shoot more peeps in the face.
