London's Metropolitan Police Debuts New World Class Training Complex

SEATTLE, WA – May 7, 2003 - Advanced Interactive Systems, Inc., (www.ais-sim.com) has now completed its work within a new £55 million Specialist Training Centre for London's Metropolitan Police Authority. AIS Ltd., a subsidiary of AIS, provided the design and equipment for the national training center in Gravesend, Kent.The new complex features what is effectively a small town, with a pub, football stadium, trains and a passenger jet. It brings together aspects of training which were previously spread over several sites.
"The Specialist Training Centre will provide us with cutting-edge facilities that are some of the most advanced in the world," says Sir John Stevens, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police.
Armed officers will also be trained using traditional indoor and outdoor target ranges and the latest in computer technology, recreating situations where officers have just seconds to decide whether to shoot or hold fire.

Specialist indoor firing ranges, including live fire and laser video ranges.
An outdoor urban training area with mock facades, simulated street settings and road layouts built to represent shops, banks, pubs and nightclubs.
An outdoor 600m and 100m range.
Assault house, search houses and abseil tower.
Mock-up of a stadium with terrace seating and crowd simulator.
Life-size section of an aircraft.
Mock train and underground stations using life-size carriages.
Stable block for up to ten police horses.
Classrooms, lecture theatre/briefing rooms.
